Busy Monday for French youth group

Today, Monday, October 24, the church youth group from Centre Evangelique Protestant of Colombes France had a busy day visiting local schools in Rincon, Georgia.
On Monday morning, they visited Effingham Christian School. The French students sang and shared, and the American students asked questions about life and religion in France.
The rest of the morning and in the afternoon, the French students visited Ebenezer Middle School, a public school north of Rincon. They visited many classes and answered many questions about French culture. They also sang Christian songs in French.
At both schools, the French students were able to invite students to visit the youth rally on Wednesday night at First Baptist Church of Rincon.
Pastor Thierry says that they experienced a warm welcome in both schools and were very happy by how friendly everybody was. He also was impressed with the modern equipment and how clean the schools were. He said that he could tell the students showed respect for their school.

Good day of worship with visiting French youth group

Today, Sunday, October 23, the youth group from France lead in worship at First Baptist Church of Rincon. The youth sang and did drama in morning worship, and Pastor Thierry Auguste preached in French, with translation into English by Elodie Couratier Lockhart, one of our church members who is from France.
After church, we took them to a pizza restaurant in Rincon, and then they rested in their host homes in the afternoon.
Sunday night, Pastor Thierry preached again int he evening service, and then we observed the communion with our Hispanic Mission. Pastor Francisco Rodriguez, pastor of Rincon Hispanic Baptist Mission, had a problem with his bus breaking down, and we were afraid he would not arrive in time. However, Pastor Rodriguez arrived just in time, as we were about to celebrate the Lord’s Supper. Everybody applauded as he entered. Afterwards we had a good fellowship time with desserts.
Tomorrow the French youth will visit Effingham Christian School and Ebenezer Middle School.

Pastor Rodriguez’s van broke down and we thought they would not be able to come, but just as we were about to begin the Lord’s Supper, he entered the church building. I said, Jesus will come back unexpectedly, and Francisco Rodriguez comes now! Everybody laughed and clapped and welcomed him, just in time to help serve communion.
